White House Refuses To Deny They Were Warned About Benghazi Attack

"Shut Up," They explained.

Reporters finally having been shamed into doing their jobs, Jay Carney was asked about allegations that the White House had foreknowledge of security threats to the Benghazi Consulate and had specifically declined to increase security.  He responded, "I’m not going to get into a situation under review by the State Department and the FBI."

However, it is clear from the Administrations actions that this was a failure to act, not a failure of intelligence.  Perhaps most telling is this quote, also from Mr. Carney, "Secretary Clinton instituted an accountability review that is underway as we speak."  If there was no foreknowledge, how could anyone be accountable?  Remember that the original story was that this was a spontaneous mob outraged by a YouTube video.

Additionally, Carney himself admitted that Libya was a security risk.  From the article:
About the list of security issues, Carney said it was a "known fact that Libya is in transition" and that in the eastern part of Libya in particular there are militant groups and "a great number of armed individuals and militias."

So, even if there weren't a "specific threat" (there was), wouldn't the area being "in transition" with "a great number of armed individuals and militias" require pretty substantial security?  Certainly I would expect actual US Marines instead of a local "security company."
